Pharmaceutical Products

We are committed to developing innovative prescription pharmaceutical products in the fields of dermatology and ophthalmology.  Our products are based on novel topical drug delivery and formation technologies applied to currently marketed drugs.   The reformulated drug products in our portfolio may offer such benefits as enhanced therapeutic efficacy, lower adverse effects, or improved compliance.  Strong patent positions and other intellectual properties are essential part of our strategy.

Our product pipeline includes a number of drug candidates in pre-clinical development stage for treatment of a range of dermatological and ophthalmic conditions, particularly for acne, rosacea, skin fungal infections, seborrheic dermatitis, and keratoconjunctivitis sicca.  All of these drug candidates are being developed in-house based on our proprietary technologies.  We own 100% of the intellectual property to these products.

Topical Metronidazole – is an innovative metronidazole gel formulation for treatment of rosacea.  We are developing this product as an improvement over a leading prescription gel product for treatment of rosacea.  With a unique and patent-pending solubilization mechanism, metronidazole is freely solubilized at a concentration of up to 1.5% in an aqueous based vehicle.  This novel formulation offers better bioavailability, modulated release profile, and cosmetic elegance when compared to the current product.  We have carried out extensive physical and chemical studies as well as collected toxicology data for the formulation.  We are currently seeking a partner to move the product to the clinical development stage.  PATENTS-PENDING.

Topical Azelaic Acid – is a novel azelaic acid gel formulation for treatment of rosacea.  In this formulation, azelaic acid is freely solublized in an aqueous vehicle at a concentration up to 20% without neutralization or use of alcohol.  Azelaic acid is the active ingredient in a number of prescription products for treatment of rosacea and acne.  But azelaic acid in these products exists as suspended solids.  Our formulation is the first-ever product with azelaic acid solubilized, rather than suspended, at a safe and effective level in an aqueous vehicle.  This novel formulation may offer significant benefits over the current products in terms of skin penetration and bioavailability, therapeutic efficacy, adverse effects, and cosmetic properties.  We have carried out extensive physical and chemical studies as well as collected toxicology data for the formulation. We are currently seeking a partner to move the product to the clinical development stage. PATENT-PENDING.

Topical Ketoconazole – is an innovative ketoconazole aqueous gel formulation for treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and skin fungal infections. We are developing this product as an improvement over existing ketoconazole prescription products. The current products contain large concentration of alcohol which is irritant and skin-drying. With a unique and patent-pending solubilization technology, ketoconazole is freely solubilized up to 2% in an aqueous based vehicle which does not contain alcohols or complexing agents such as cyclodextrins. This novel formulation offers lower adverse effects and significantly better cosmetic elegance when compared to the current products. We are working on optimizing the formulation, conducting physical and chemical studies, and collecting toxicology data.  PATENT-PENDING.

Ophthalmic Cyclosporin – is an innovative cyclosporin solution for treatment of keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dry eye disease).  We are developing this product as an improvement over the leading prescription product.  This formula contains up to 40% less of the surfactant used in the existing prescription product, no emulsion stabilizer and oil droplets.  This might lead to better delivery of cyclosporin to ocular tissues and reduced eye irritation.  The formulation is stable without crystallization and/or precipitation of cyclosporin. PATENTS-PENDING.
